Saedia could help grinning like an idiot to herself as she neared Professor Shadow's laboratory, and the pokemon available for starting trainers that waited inside. She had started her journey later than most, but age didn't matter, it was passion and determination that made a trainer.
<I wonder if they will have a Skarmory?> The female thought to herself. She'd heard that they did offer a bird pokemon for a starter, but no one had told her which bird. No matter. She'd take it regaurdless. Birds were birds, and she loved them all. She just happened to be a bit more fond of Skarmory than the rest.
As she neared the lab she stopped slighty and fluffed her hair before straightening her coat. It was an irritating habit she posessed that drove her mother crazy. She had to check and double check her appearence before going anywhere. She tried not to, but she couldn't help caring what others thought about her. She preferred those thoughts to be good, and a clean image was vital to achieving that.
After several minutes of fluffing and primping she was satisfied and continued to the door of the lab. Butterfrees filled her stomach as her right hand formed a quick fist, the knuckles rapping out a greeting on the solid door, the only thing between her and her first pokemon. Her journey really had begun.
